Recent college graduates are not financially literate due to a lack of approachable and engaging education during high school and college.

Due to a short project timeline, we began by conducting user interviews in order to understand recent college grads’ backgrounds in personal finance education.

  1. Most users do not remember any useful personal finance skills they learned during high school and college

  2. Young adults tend to feel apprehensive to dive into certain financial topics because of intimidating lingo

  3. They feel motivated and connected to the content they’re learning when it’s personalized for their needs and it’s rewarded

  1. 68% of our respondents struggle to understand investments

  2. Over half of them find spending to be a significant challenge

  3. Majority of respondents are visual learners

  4. Respondents do not feel confident when it comes to savings and credit

  2. Integrate leaderboards feature to allow for in-classroom use as a supplemental learning tool

  3. Improve level of gamification by animating responses to correct/incorrect answers and reaching 100% progress on your meter
